I don't know if a thread like this already exists - if it does I apologize for opening a new one.
But as I think that the new poll question is quite an interesting one I thought a discussion thread for the questions would be nice.

I voted for "13" and was quite surprised that so few people did. "Tender" and "Coffee & TV" are two of Blur's all-time favourites, both are even contestants for "My favourite Blur song ever".
I was also shocked that "Think Tank" has only one (!) vote. "Out Of Time" in fact IS my favourite Blur song and I like "Good Song" a lot, as well. Of course, with "Crazy Beat" it might also have the worst Blur single (sorry, "Crazy Beat" fans Wink )

Your thoughts?

ha, it was me who voted for think tank Laughing
it was a hard question for me, because i'm not a big fan of their singles, and couldn't think of a real favourite. i voted thikn tank because of out of time and good song, despite crazy beat being there...

Every album has some excellent singles for sure, but if I had to choose one, it would be Parklife (how perfect that album would've been with "This Is A Low" as a fifth single!).

I don't mind Crazy Beat...not their best song but certainly not their worst!

no but people go on about it as if norman cook made blur do it and is to blame, the answer is no blur wrote it and chose it to be on the album

Hmm no, I don't care who produced the song - it's just that it is quite lame, you know? The song is supposed to rock but it doesn't. The mid tempo doesn't fit it and the production lacks a certain energy that would make it rock. I think I would like it better if it had either a more "tight and kicking" production or if it was faster. Oh, and the duck noises in the beginning are quite annoying but I think this was already mentioned a hundred times..
I also think that it doesn't really fit in with the rest of "Think Tank", it kind of destroys the mellow flow, especially as it follows "Out Of Time". But this thread is about the singles, so this doesn't belong here.

I voted for 'Blur'. Mainly because of beetlebum, but I also love M.O.R and Song 2 (Even if it is hugely overplayed)

I know. I was only refering to the bit where I was criticizing "Crazy Beat" for destroying the flow of "Think Tank" and that doesn't belong into the single discussion because a single stands for itself. Wink

I voted for 13 because of the three singles, since they're some of my very favorites (Tender, Coffee and tv & No distance left to run) but it was a hard choise with Blur and Think tank.. and I'm actually crazy about Crazy beat.. Smile even the "duck sounds" Wink

i think no distance left to run is actually the worst blur single tied with music is my radar. tis a shame cos mellow song or trimm trabb would have been great singles

oooh! Shocked I JUST LOOOOVE MUSIC IS MY RADAR TOO Razz

Well, No distance left to run is maybe not the best choice for a single but Trimm trabb and Mellow song are not really more "easy listening", if this is why you call it a bad single... (I just love these tracks too by the way)
but I must say that I like the idea of a single that wouldn't be too commercial (especially if it's not the first one of the album)

Regarding this month's poll (What is your favourite Blur lyric line?), I wonder if you have any other fave lyric lines in addition to the poll ones?
