...yeah, but still thinking that this single is the worst released by Gorillaz...Dunno, I'm still not getting into it. Sounds a little unproduced...or sumthing...mmm...I can't explain myself.

I know what you mean, the single is a bit flat as a whole and sounds a bit like demo (same pattern repeated over and over again). It does have some strong melodies/harmonies though, but in a minimalistic way the single is produced, it does not reveal its full potential.
I'm slightly worried about Plastic Beach - without a proper producer and being totally Damon's playground, will it end up being Monkey: Journey To The West Pt. 2? |

If it happens, it will be a massive fail for the Gorillaz-project...!! The Album itself have a lot of potential, with A-Side collabs. Hope that Damon not ruin this for being such a fool!

Just a random thought, but maybe they'll reveal the first proper lead-off single when the Plastic Beach site is revealed in a couple of days? Have you seen the new 'Murdoc' video clip with Electric Shock as a background music? It looks pretty promising and very promo video-like:

If not, I really hope there will be a promo video for "Stylo", otherwise it'll be a pretty dissapointing arrangement for the first single.... In my country, "Stylo" only got a few plays on a couple of alt. radio stations and it seems to have stalled in the B-list on Radio 1.

I'm very underwhelmed by Stylo...it's a good track but an amazingly weak single. And it has actually dampened my enthusiasm for the upcoming PB...I am still looking forward to it, but not nearly as much...

According to G-U, the Stylo promo vid will premiere on February 27th on Babelgum.com.
Great news, hopefully it will set the single on fire! |
